How to add a site to the Ring

Please print out and follow these instructions carefully to avoid errors.

The 3 steps in summary:

1. You submit information about your site to the ring queue
2. You add a small piece of linking HTML code, supplied by us, to your site
3. You confirm, by e-mail, that steps 1-2 has been completed

After our approval your site will be added to the ring and you will receive visits both from the sites preceding and following yours in the ring and from visitors using the random option.

To avoid design incompatibility and to limit increased download times, the linking HTML code you will need to add to your page is text based.

Please note that The Choir and Choral Music Web Ring is intended for sites with a significant choir and choral music content only. Sites not fulfilling this will not be approved.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE THREE STEPS BELOW VERY CAREFULLY TO AVOID ERRORS

Step 1: Submit site information

Use this form to add your site to the queue and then return to this page:

Site URL:

VERY IMPORTANT! Please note that you should quote the exact URL of the page into which you intend to add the ring link.

For example: If you want visitors to come to your home page, you must place the linking HTML code in your home page. If you would rather place the HTML code in your links page, that's fine but visitors will arrive at your links page when they visit from another site.

Our verification robot will only look for the HTML code in the page quoted above. It will not search your entire site. Your site can only be added to the ring once the HTML code appears in the quoted page and you have confirmed the addition by e-mail.

Site Title:

E-mail:

Password:

This need not be an existing password. You may create a new one for the ring if you wish.

Keywords: Enter up to 20 keywords that relate to your site:

Description: Enter a short description of your site

When you hit the 'Add to Queue' button, your site will be added to the web ring queue. You will be shown a standard confirmation page giving you an ID number. Make a careful note of this ID number and record your password.

NOTE: The confirmation page also contains the linking HTML code that you need to add to your webpage.

Step 2: Add linking HTML code

Copy and Paste the linking HTML code, supplied by us, into the page at the URL you registered. If you are unable to do that just now, don't panic! You will also get the code by e-mail.

You may alter the layout, text size and colour to complement your page design if you wish, but removing any of the HTML references may disable the feature. You will not need to edit this HTML code at any time as the cgi scripts to which they refer will automatically refer visitors to the previous and next and random sites in the ring.

How are you doing? You're nearly there!

Step 3: Confirm completion

Send an email message to ringmaster confirming that you have added the appropriate linking HTML code to your page. (Please always quote your title, URL and site ID number in any correspondence).

Your site details will then be added to the ring proper at the next available weekly update and you will receive automated notification by e-mail when this is done. That's all there is to it!

Should you experience any difficulty, please contact ringmaster
