A number of projects are
available to which applicants with their own source of funding are
encouraged to apply: Postdoctoral
Fellowship Funding EU
Marie Curie Fellowships. No limit on
post doc experience but mobility in terms of crossing a national
boundary is essential. 2 year Fellowships. There are two variants,
the Intra-European Fellowships (IEF for those moving within the EU)
and Incoming International Fellowships (IIF for those from outside
the EU). Contact Dr Dalton directly to sponsor and work with
you on your application. Final deadline for completed
submissions:11th August 2011
The
2010-11 closing dates for the fellowships below have passed, but it
is likely that there will be further rounds (with similar closing
dates) next year.
EPSRC
Postdoctoral Reseach Fellowships (3
years funding) for researchers of any age and nationality with three
years or less of postdoctoral research experience. Surrey is only
allowed to support a limited number of applications (to be held at
Surrey) so please ensure that Dr Dalton is aware of your
interest well in advance.
Royal
Society URFs (University Research Fellowships)
(5 years funding) for researchers early / mid-stage career (eg who
hav held one to three post-doc positions) who do not have a
permanent position in the EEA (European Economic Area = EU+). Must
be EEA citizens, or have an EEA connection (PhD or post-doc position
held in the EEA).
Leverhulme
Early Career Fellowships: 2-3 years
funding for those with a UK degree (PhD at least submitted), and/or
a temporary academic position in the UK, and no permanent post in
the UK. Contact Dr Dalton directly to sponsor and work with you on
your application.
Newton
International Fellowships (2 years
funding plus follow-up money for 10 years) for junior researchers.
Only for people who are not UK citizens and
who are not working in the UK already. Early
contact between applicants and Dr Dalton before application is
essential.
PhD Funding Funding
available for excellent candidates through our Doctoral Training Programme. Self-funded
candidates should contact Dr Dalton directly. |
